The Erz Mountains stand for the real Christmas country. With fantasy and sleight of hand magnificent wood art pieces were made. They carry festive glamour in the cold season. The "Lichterbergmann" (miner with many lights) is a traditional Christmas decoration and is used together with a light carrying angel. As a couple they represent Ladies and Gents. For a person from the Erz Mountains, who became father, it was a duty to either carve a miner for a son or an angel for a girl. During Christmas time these figures were placed in the windows and everybody could see how many children lived in the house. The figures are also a symbol for the area. They were expected to guide the miners the right way back home, with their light.
The incense smoker ("Räuchermann") was mentioned for the first time in the year 1830. It is an invention of the toy maker for the burning of incenses and today it is an important part of the Christmas time in the Erz Mountains. As incenses for the incense smoker you have the choice between the traditional scents olibanum or sandalwood or modern fruity trends, like orange or lemon.
Christmas pyramids are decorative. The wheel blower is set to movement by the heat of the candles. The pyramids appear full of Christmas atmosphere and relaxing.
